Petite Lortal, beautiful restored cottage near Sarlat
Lortal is a country farm estate, home to a retired Dutch couple, situated just six miles from the mediaeval town of Belves in a hamlet called Doissat.
Tucked away in a peaceful, shaded corner of the grounds, Petite Lortal is a recently renovated holiday home suitable for two adults seeking to enjoy the countryside, the wines and the cuisine of the Perigord-and possibly looking forward to a round or two of golf, a cycling tour of the (hilly) environs, a breathtaking canoe trip or one of many signposted walks through the timeless scenery.
The house is completely self-contained, in its own small, secluded garden. A living room, bathroom, kitchenette and bedroom provide all modern conveniences. For those chilly days there also is (electrical) heating.
During your stay, owners Reneé and André (who both speak excellent English) will be around to welcome you, and to answer all questions as well as provide all necessary help. Their extensive local knowledge is a huge advantage, and since Petite Lortal is the ONLY holiday home on the relaxed (and some might say remote) estate, you can be assured of their attention when you need it -as well as your privacy when you don’t. And nice to know: they are always prepared to discuss your use of their own private swimming pool (within some constraints emanating from French law). Travelling in the Perigord you will need a car for transportation.
You can fly with either RyanAir, Flybe or B.A. into Bergerac, Toulouse or Bordeaux airports where you can hire a car.
The many returning guests confirm that the Perigord is a firm favourite when it comes to peace, convenience and relaxation.
